Math Hoops 11/3/16

This morning in room 7 I played this game called Math Hoops. I got 10 out of 10 it was quite easy because I tried my hardest to get 10 out of 10. But if you don't know your multiplication and addition facts I really think you will  struggle. Hope you have fun playing this game.

Please solve the following problems . Show your working so that we can understand your thinking.

GI Zoo Prices         Adult:              $14                                             Child under 12 : #

1. It cost the Naidoo family of 2 adults and 3 children $61 to go to the zoo. What is the missing price on the board?

14 x 2 = 28

28 + 33 = 61

33 divided by 3 = $11 for each children

2. For 4 days of the week the zoo has a concession for schools. $10 each for the first 100 children and then $12 each for the others. What would a school pay if there are 127 children?

10 x 100 = 1000

12 x 27 = 324

1000 + 324= 1324

3. On a Friday evening the zoo has a special rate for school children:for every paid 7 children 2 get to go in free. What would it cost a school with 147 children?

147 divided by 9 = 16 r3

11 x 3 = 33

16 x 7 = 122

12 x 11 = 1232

1232 + 33 = 1265

Speed skills

Today I played a mathelitics game called speed skills and it was kind of challenging. The first time I played it I struggled, but after few attempts I got the hang of it. There was a lot of pressure on the game because you only had 1 minute. The way to play this game is you have to answer as much questions as you can until the time is over.

Beat the clock

This game is called beat the clock, it is math a game also it is a very fun game and panicking game. To play this game you will have to answer these simple question very fast because there is a time that goes fast, by the way there a easy questions so if you a year 7 or 8 you should find this easy. Before you click this link you should put on your thinking hat and get started. Last but not least this game will help you answer the easy question very fast just like that, so if your teacher ask you a random question like 4 + 5 you will already say the awner. Maths Week 3

In week 3 we have been learning about multiplication, measuring, Geometry and additions for maths. When I had my basic facts test I focused and took my time and at the end of the test I saw my results and it was good I was so proud of myself because I focus at class and I don't mark around. So when the P.A.T test comes I'm going to focus and try hard.



I think I have learned a lot of maths and also I think i'm working hard. If you want to learn a lot about maths then go on khan academy and it will tell you a lot of things about maths last but not least watch a lot of videos about maths that will push you to improve in your maths.

Candy Floss

On Wednesday the sport camp children got a chance to make candy floss to fund raise for our sport camp. We had loads of fun twisting and packaging the candy floss, we raised $300 and each candy floss cost $1. It was lucky because we did not have to pay for the candy floss machine also the sugar and bags. Thank you very much skids for donating the staff for our fund raising. At the end of the day a lot of children enjoyed it, they had a fun time eating their candy floss.
